Professor Quentin Parker, FRAS, FASA

Professor Parker is an eminent Australian astronomer who joined HKU in 2015. He is Associate Dean of the Faculty of Science and Director of the Laboratory for Space Research ( Quentin has worked at the Royal Observatory Edinburgh, Anglo-Australian observatory (AAO), University of Edinburgh and Macquarie University where he developed and directed the research centre in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Astrophotonics. His research is mainly in Wide Field Astronomy, Galactic Archaeology and Planetary Nebulae, where he has discovered more than anyone in history. He has published more than 429 papers and articles of which 258 are refereed and has 15300 citations. Quentin has a long-term interest in pedagogy, Chinese Bronze artifacts and cultural heritage.
